Försterling Finds Winning Formula in Switzerland

Bogey-free 66 for the Arizona State Alumini as she wins on the Ladies European Tour

German rookie Alexandra Försterling, shot a final round five under par to win by two in the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.

A bogey-free 66 for the Arizona State Alumini as she posted five birdies in the final round at Golfpark Holzhäusern to claim her maiden victory on the Ladies European Tour.

“I can’t quite believe it,” Försterling said. “It feels so strange in a way. Obviously you always work for it, but then when it happens you can’t quite believe it!

“I’m probably going to take my mum out for a really nice dinner! I owe everything to her and she’s the biggest supporter I have. It was awesome to have her there with me.

“It was obviously my goal to win one time, and I’ve been struggling here and there. My goal for this week was to have a good top-10 finish, but after two rounds being in contention I was hoping for more and I guess it worked out!”

The 23-year-old wins by two shots from Norway’s Madelene Stavnar and a further shot back was Germany’s  Sophie Witt, Wales’ Chloe Williams and France’s Anne-Charlotte Mora.

In the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, the top three players remain in the same order with Celine Boutier leading followed by Ana Peláez Trivino in second and Diksha Dagar in third.

Försterling jumps to 14th from 45th with her maiden LET victory.
