Julius Baer Hires APAC Bankers in Switzerland


Zurich-headquartered Julius Baer has hired four seasoned private bankers that will serve Asia Pacific clients out of Switzerland, finews.asia has learned.

Julius Baer hires Fernando Kresna Baay as a team head, APAC Switzerland, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. Based in Switzerland, Baay reports to the head of APAC Switzerland Christian Cappelli.

Baay has over two decades of financial services experience, most recently as a senior relationship manager at Credit Suisse covering Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Previously, he also worked at Citi Private Bank for 17 years as a relationship manager.

Joining Baay’s team are Abraham Ara and Jacqlyn Mak who are both also former Credit Suisse relationship managers.

In addition, Julius Baer also hired Christophe Amadieu as a senior relationship manager, reporting to team head APAC Switzerland Gideon Dessauer. Before this, Amadieu worked at UBS as a relationship manager for 14 years.

«Our commitment to Asia remains resolute and these strategic appointments in our APAC Switzerland team highlight our dedication to expanding our Asia coverage out of Switzerland,» commented Cappelli in the memo.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
